A schedule for a "thing" can be created by clicking "New" in the "Schedules" section of the thing. A dialog box opens with the following settings

Field Required Description Dialog
Name x

Schedule name.

  • Must be unique within a thing.
  • Can contain: The page Constraint - thing schedule name does not exist.
  
Cron x

Cron expression.

  • Click on "cron expression builder" link for a wizard.
Type x

Select "method" or "event" to trigger a method or event at the scheduled times
Method/Event x Name of method or event to be triggered.

After a schedule has been created, it can be edited anytime by:

  1. Selecting the schedule in the "Schedules" section of the "thing"
  2. Clicking "Edit" in the details panel. A similar dialog box will open with the retained settings
